Keeping watch on the UK's 2015 Government
Governments get away with a lot simply because people forget. This site helps you remember.
The site comprises two main ingredients - a timeline of significant government statements/policies/actions/protests and a selection of informed comment & analysis. The objective is to help cut through the political spin and present independent and critical opinions, taken from a range of media but mainly from the UK's leading quality newspapers.
A Discussion Forum can be accessed from the Home menu option. Anyone can join. ( Offensive material will be removed without notice.)
Readers are invited to email article links from their favourite paper.
The selection of articles may appear somewhat biased but as the government benefits from the support of a disproportionate majority of the UK press, a site that is decidedly critical will go some small way to redress the balance.
"Isis will not be defeated by killing more Arab Muslims with more western bombs " - Paddy Ashdown on the Syrian refugee crisis, 7th September 2015
"We've not wasted a single day since the election" - David Cameron 29th July 2015
"Cameron may as well hug a coal power station" - Ed Davey, ex LibDem MP , 24th July 2015
"The Tories have no answer to the now almost universally acknowledged crisis of inequality – except to deepen it" - Seamus Milne, Guardian 18th June 2015
"Austerity is not a necessity, but a political choice" Heather Stewart, Observer, 7th June 2015
